Texas and states across the nation are facing serious challenges with respect to transportation infrastructure and funding. According to the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, Texas needs to invest $375 billion between now and 2030, with only about half that revenue available, to maintain our current infrastructure and prevent worsening traffic congestion. To preserve our state's comparative economic advantage, Texas must find a solution to invest in our roads, bridges, rail lines, seaports and airports. The question is how, given current conditions, this is possible.
With over 37 million people projected to live in Texas by 2030, how will lawmakers make sure there are adequate funding resources? How will lawmakers make sure that Texas is on the leading edge of economic development? How will lawmakers decide to build the future of Texas?
Alongside the most knowledgeable and respected leaders in the industry, policy makers and government officials, the Texas Lyceum plans to answer these questions and more at our public conference in Austin at the downtown Hilton Hotel.
